All in a day

Typical day at work (Well, not exactly!)

Have to reach office at 7-30 in the morning for a conf call. While getting there, am almost run down by a monster car whose driver thinks he's the only one driving at that hour. He gets the F word he deserved nonetheless! Conference is actually 2 hours of listening to a faint sermon. The speaker constantly keeps moving away from the phone (For chrissake!). Conference ends at 9-30am.

Stomach is making all sorts of weird sounds. Its craving for food. Off to a nearby fast food center to have some idly-vada and coffee. Come back to office at 10-00am. I remember that tickets to "The DaVinci Code" movie is booked for the 3-30pm show - almost the whole team is going to the movie. Pushing that distracting thought aside, I open my mailbox. 60 unread mails - since the previous evening. That took about an hour to clear up. 11-00am. Head starts spinning due to lack of sleep - I had to get up at 5am to make it to office before 7-30am. One more round of coffee and that takes the time to 11-30am. Barely half-hour of "work", the emergency alarm in the building starts to howl. There is an announcement on the public addressing system that there is an emergency in the building and we have to evacuate immediately! "This surely is one more fire evacuation drill", I thought to myself. And sure enough, it just was that! They spent half hour and all the old/about-to-expire fire extinguishers to extinguish fake fire and train people on how to react in an emergency. Had they thought about the possibility of a real fire in the evening and that they would not have any fire extinguisher left after they bozzled out all of 'em?! No idea! And they actually burnt petrol to create the fake fire!! Can you believe that?! "We can afford it!" is what one of the senior person at office said when asked about this. "Really?! Who are 'we'?!", I thought to myself.

12-30pm. We had a little chat among ourselves in our team and we decided to go out for lunch and then to the movie directly. Full half-day of outing. WOW! Lunch at Bheema's. We call lunch at Bheema's as "Batting" - Amass food as batsmen amass runs - something like that. Batting was followed by bowling at amoeba. Reason - still 2 hours left to the start of movie. We walk from amoeba to inox and get into the movie hall. The movie was a marathon one - 3 hours!! Got out at 6-30pm. Had to walk back to office, which took a half-hour. Check mails again and head home.

All this in a day's work... :)

A tout le monde

Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone thats all

A tout le monde
A tout les amis
Je vous aime
Je dois partir

These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say

Moving on is a simple thing
What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living are scarred

A "this is life" cliche

4 days at home without being able to watch TV or sit in front of the computer (Oh my god!!)
Right eye the size of a large cherry (Have mercy, good God!)
iPod filled with full Dream Theater, Megadeth and Scorpions collections...

Ah - Bliss! Yes "this is life" :))

"You're such an MCP..."
"Well, thank you"

Over analysis had killed it. I just remembered what my red devil friend said...

"They just can't see the brightest of lights"

Take the time

Just let me catch my breath...
I've heard the promises
I've seen the mistakes
I've had my fair share of tough breaks
I need a new voice, a new law, a new way
Take the time, reevaluate
It's time to pick up the pieces,
Go back to square one
I think it's time for a change

There is something that I feel
To be something that is real
I feel the heat within my mind
And craft new changes with my eyes
Giving freely wandering promises
A place with decisions I'll fashion
I won't waste another breath

You can feel the waves coming on
(It's time to take the time)
Let them destroy you or carry you on
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
But no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all you need in your mind

The unbroken spirit
Obscured and disquiet
Finds clearness this trial demands
And at the end of this day sighs an anxious relief
For the fortune lies still in his hands

If there's a pensive fear, a wasted year
A man must learn to cope
If his obsession's real,
Suppression that he feels must turn to hope

Life is no more assuring than love
(It's time to take the time)
There are no answers from voices above
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
And no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all that you need in your mind

I close my eyes
And feel the water rise around me
Drown the beat of time
Let my senses fall away
I can see much clearer now, I'm blind

"Adesso che ho perso la vista,ci vedo meglio e di piu"

Find all you need in your mind
If you take the time
